Daniela Di Lillo

Daniela Di Lillo is a South African-Swiss electronic producer and environmentalist, raising awareness through her cinematic deep house streaming sets. Her music reflects her nurturing personality and commitment to ocean preservation, which sets her apart from traditional club DJs. Under her alias Nora En Pure and founder of Purified Records, she becomes "an instrument to convey positive, strong, and hopeful feelings [portraying] a deeper musical message."

She has a profound connection to nature and a personal affinity to the South African wilderness and ocean. Her dedication to sea preservation led her to collaborate with organizations such as Beneath the Waves, where her efforts include a captivating mini-series aimed at marine life and its impact. As an OnlyOne ambassador, Daniela recognizes the importance of her profession’s contribution directly to carbon footprint.

In her efforts, Daniela uniquely offers immersive experiences of landscapes with her music, creating a cinematic affinity via live streams. She prefers drones to capture the motion of water with the energy of her music. Her locations are carefully gone through proper permissions, with the goal of "bringing tranquility, peace, and motivation connecting the viewer with nature" is worth the hassle of logistics and editing.

Daniela balances her production time between Switzerland and the United States; however, most of her creations are heavily on the go. "Drafts often result in a clubbier sound inspired by my tour and shows," she states. "When I start a draft in the studio, I'm drawn to peaceful pieces that are not intended for the dancefloor."

Her tech tools, such as Logic, Native Instruments, Waves, and Arturia, not to mention countless hardware and UAD (universal audio digital) plugins provide Daniela the flexibility to create the organic deep house genre that is exclusively Nora En Pure. "The typical club sound seemed a bit monotonous," she admits. "I'm drawn to classical, organic instruments or nature infused sounds," which introduce and captivate to a non-electronic dance music audience setting her apart from traditional club DJs.

Moreover, her label Purified Records is founded on the principles of minimalistic musical values in conjunction with lifestyle. "We care mostly about the music," she conveys, "and if the person behind it somewhat shares our vision and values." She believes an artist's intention shines through their music, making them a reflection of their personality.

Care about your craft, message, and vision and you will be respected for exactly that.”

As a female musical engineer Daniela had an array of love and support throughout her career and never bothered with "noise." "Females have the booking advantage as promoters try to reach a certain ratio, which is wrong," Daniela explains. "Regardless, females could use this to their creative advantage; however, some make it about their appearance, often sexualizing themselves which is counterproductive to women within the music industry." She encourages artists to be genuine within their craft and remain dedicated.

"[The music industry] has become overly commercialized," she admits, "as with anything with popularity and social media drives this causing music to become almost secondary; however, original music will always prevail."

In the age of addiction to inanimate objects, Daniela turns to freediving. "It's a peaceful challenge for mind and body to be superior and in control of your natural instinct." Moreover, Daniela finds significance in thinking critically yet open to the cultures that elude from her travels. "The best technique for time away from screens and devices is nature. It motivates, heals, and gives me peace. The birth of humans is in direct symbiosis with the earth.”

Daniela’s commitment to earth conservation with a harmonious sync of touring, producing, and meditating, crafts the humble human she eludes today.
