meet Abby
Abby Duran is the founder and creative director of VeraNation Writing, where business and storytelling collide. Her work threads the tapestry of professional biographies and creative content by assisting companies and creatives with their narrative growth.
She studied Arts Management at the College of Charleston and has a background in music journalism, including contributions to Charleston's photojournalist music publication, 9 to 5 Magazine (2017-2020) and Frequency Minded Magazine. Abby is a member of 1 Million Cups, Sisters in Song, an OhmRadio96.3 FM DJ, and Charleston Music Director of Creative Mornings.
Recognized by Charleston Scene as one of Charleston’s Most Influential Women in the Arts, Abby is also celebrated spoken word artist among the Free Verse community. Her work is featured in Singers & Stanzas I, presented by HALO, which premiered at the historic Dock Street Theatre in May 2024, Once Upon No Time: Empoweress Poetry Press Anthology Vol. 1, and Mental Health American SC Poetry Anthology Vol. 1. Her features include Jersey City’s WAYE Reading Series, Sofar Charleston, and the Soda City Poetry Festival.

Between Words
Between Words is an autobiography in poetic form. From uncovering ancestral roots to claiming her identity, Duran paints photographs derived from words. In between her internal quest she recounts her romantic efforts, adoration for global travel, and empowerment. This is her first book.
