meet Abby

Abby Duran is a narrative strategist and spoken word artist committed to finding value in others while transforming anger into art, recognized by Charleston Scene as one of Charleston’s Most Influential Women in the Arts.

Her path began in music journalism over a decade, including Charleston’s 9 to 5 Magazine. With a background in arts management, she shifted from entertainment to biographies.

Through her company, VeraNation Writing, Abby crafts narrative profiles, poetic branding, and website content for businesses, multilingual creatives, and community builders.

 Abby mentors young writers through Berkeley Center for the Arts and ClearPillar’s college prep program in New York City. She continues to engage her community as a member of Sisters in Song, OhmRadio 96.3, 1 Million Cups, and as Music Director for Creative Mornings Charleston.
